I have read the IFPA’s update on 2026 January 1 including the IFPA’s new Conduct Code and Diversity and Inclusion Code. It is reassuring to see both of these new codes as they represent a significant change from the IFPA leadership’s decisions leading to significant community backlash along with the resignation of the entire Women’s Advisory Board.
I am holding out hope this represents real change and isn’t just a bunch of words on a website. I am reconsidering the prior stance and it is rather likely that BCPL’s next events in February or March will be IFPA-endorsed as usual. However, there will still be significant changes to the upcoming rulebook, the most far-reaching of which is removing most specific mentions of the IFPA. These will make it easier for BCPL events to be endorsed by other pinball organizations instead of or in addition to the IFPA.
